SUN SAFE WORKPLACES EMPLOYEE TRAINING PROGRAMME

Upon registration, workplaces will be provided with access to their admin panel from which they can effectively manage all aspects of employee training with visual statistical data to provide essential overviews on many aspects of the training outcomes and that all-important evidence of completion.

The training can be delivered in face-to-face, group sessions using a large communal screen to play the educational films, combined with individual desktop or mobile devices connected to the internet for each employee to complete the remaining interactive elements. Alternatively, the training can be undertaken by workers remotely in their own time (this is essential for educating new employees and those unable to attend group sessions).

The training programme consists of 9 key sections comprising a series of short videos, multiple choice questions and interactive learning to engage, educate, empower and equip your employees - as follows:

1) PRE-TRAINING EMPLOYEE
QUESTIONNAIRE

Our pre-training questionnaire comprises a series of multiple choice questions that aim to ascertain individual workers current level of knowledge, attitude and habits towards sun safety, skin cancer prevention and skin checking.

2) SKIN CANCER CAUSES
AND RISK FACTORS

The first in a series of three graphically animated educational films that educates workers on skin cancer statistics, solar UV radiation, how it causes skin cancer and why outdoor workers are at greater risk of developing the disease.

3) PERSONAL SKIN CANCER
RISK ASSESSMENT

This section requires workers to complete a multiple choice questionnaire that highlights further factors that can place individuals at greater risk, providing them with rationale along the way and a personalised assessment on completion.

4) HOW TO REDUCE YOUR RISK
OF SKIN CANCER

This second film educates workers on checking the solar UV Index forecast and the ways in which they can reduce their risk of skin cancer, detailing Skcin’s Five S approach to sun safety and five star sun protection.

5) PUT YOUR PREVENTION
KNOWLEDGE TO THE TEST

This multiple choice questionnaire is designed to reinforce key messaging by testing workers on the key preventative measures - providing employers with evidence of workers knowledge in relation to this essential area of educational training.

6) HOW TO CHECK YOUR SKIN
FOR SIGNS OF SKIN CANCER

The final film educates workers on the importance of performing regular skin examinations, how to detect the early warning signs of the various types of skin cancer and how to take appropriate action with concerns.

7) THE I SPY MELANOMA
5 MINUTE CHALLENGE

This interactive learning tool educates workers on the ABCDE of melanoma screening tool which is widely recognised and used to detect the early warning signs of the most common form of melanoma - visible in around 70% of all cases.

8) POST-TRAINING
EMPLOYEE QUESTIONNAIRE

Our post training questionnaire revisits many of the pre-training questions, providing employers with directly comparable evidence that highlights workers’ learning outcomes, changes in attitude and intentions following their training.

9) SIGNPOSTING TO SUPPORTIVE
EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES

Finally, workers are prompted to download their certificate of completion and additional resources to help reinforce key messaging and provide further support in developing their knowledge and taking charge of their skin health and surveillance.
